An absolute ripper of a shot, great at the game, even better on the T.V. A crucial 3 points to hopefully get us moving again. (Well done to Marcus as well, another great header between Two defenders.)
Sign the lad now. Quality.
I'd put him right up there with Ness and Tate as our most important loan signings this season. Cracking player. Hopefully being nowhere near City's first team will give him another season here.
I'd've made Leigh my MotM.
In the first half I was in my: 'I've travelled 75 miles to be here - entertain me' mode. Whatever SD said at half time we should bottle and sell! Total change of attitude, especially the defence and midfield, and the front two began to be fed properly.
Leigh was one of several who worked hard, perhaps not as effectively as, say, Jones and Turton, but that wonder goal sealed it.
Very pleased for Haber. He's taken a lot of stick (some justified), but that thunderous header was straight out of the 'Centre Forward's book of scoring'.
There were a few negatives, but I'll forgive and forget - 3pts, two wonder goals, and a happy SD are my memories to savour.![]()
Its good to see him getting some praise he's been consistently good this season.
Glad to see that the lad has done something to dispel the criticism of him that was voiced on this board a couple of weeks ago.
As a matter of interest, how did he fare compared to George Evans, our loanee of last year? I see that Evans had a shot on goal, but that is no indication as to how he played.
Thought he looked like he has improved, only one on their team really passing the ball around creatively. Wouldn't say no for him taking Turtons CM place imo.
Evans was OK for a couple of games with us and then became a passenger. He did show improvement on Saturday, but nowhere near the standard of Turton and Jones in the 2nd half. If Ajose hadn't been misfiring and Haber not physical enough most of the time, I think we'd have annihilated Scunny.Originally Posted by Ryancrewefan4ever
