    New "Head of recruitment"

    FORMER Plymouth Argyle coach Gary Owers has been appointed as the head of recruitment at Scottish Premiership club Motherwell.

    Former Argyle coach Gary Owers takes on new role at Motherwell


    Owers, 48, will lead a newly recruited group of scouts based in Scotland, England and across Europe.

    They will monitor matches on a daily basis and form a talent identification system for the Lanarkshire club.

    Owers left his role with Argyle towards the end of last season after working with manager John Sheridan since he arrived at Home Park in January 2013.

    Motherwell boss Ian Baraclough was delighted with the appointment of Owers.

    He said: "Gary is someone that has a fantastic knowledge of players given his scouting background.

    "In terms of the role, it's hugely important for me to have someone in place who knows exactly what I'm trying to bring to this football club, the philosophy I want to adopt and the strategy the club has for long-term sustainabil

    Seem to be recruiting a lot of people in new positions all positive actions as long as they are covered by the fruits of their endevoirs

    Another positive move. The future is starting to look good.
    Let's hope the scouting can identify a new breed of youngsters who can come through at the Club.
