    Tough on the Terminator

Steve in The Sentinel is unusually critical of Grant, saying that he has lost form and is being carried at the mo'.

Seems a bit unhelpful to me.

We knew exactly what we were getting, with 13 yellows and a red for Southend and eight yellows for Stevenage, yet the Alex went out of their way to secure his services. Indeed he 'improved' to seven and a red last season, though his eight this time round don't like quite as clever.

If anything, after a rash of cards in the middle of the campaign, he's calmed down a lot recently. But has he, in consequence, lost his bite in midfield?

Maybe we have to accept that his lateness in tackles gets him cautions but also makes him feared and the midfield therefore less likely to be overrun, and that this is part and parcel of his game.

If, like Osman (still a regular for Partick Thistle!), he were totally to lose his mojo, then that would be the worrying thing.

And if he's up for contract renewal (not sure), then giving him the sulks is not too sm

It all depends on what Granty responds to - and SD is a better judge of that than me.
Grant is still an imposing force even when his form has dipped, and we need him for 90 minutes of every game.
In the last two home games I have noticed his form had dropped - but his belligerent and powerful attitude hasn't. I don't want him to rein in the attitude, but without timing, skill and vision (which he has had in abundance) it could prove a problem.

I don't think he's the sulky type - but I may well be wrong.

Inmans form has dipped also but Crewe require him on the field for 90min also, but i think the Problem is Playing certain players Out of Position, thats how the club lost Clayton, and Billy Jones?
