Thread: Turning point?

    Turning point?

Feel really positive after today's performance.

We could easily have been turned over but showed great resilience and got a stroke of luck for a change (in recent games at least).

Thought there were good performances from most of team. Picking out a few Raul looked more confident and produced a couple of cultured passes, Warnock was really solid and positive when he came on, Grant made two good saves which will surely get him confident again.

Gave away ball too easily and JR isn't a central striker (but he was excellent in effort and when he got chance to run at defenders, rather than receiving with back to goal, looked dangerous).

With GT and CM on way back Tuesday/Friday I'm looking forward to Borough and Wolves.

Yes was there but came away with more doubts than i have had for a while.
Ok injuries are hampering us but we are all over the place at the moment.
We have a tough week ahead and I feel we need a leader big time at the moment to see us through.. I don't see one, Keogh was just moaning at people today.

Different views from maybe only a few yards away but that's not surprising.

Don't think timing is right for change in leader and not convinced that RK was moaning - maybe as an angry fellow you can tell better than me!!

It was a fantastic point but I couldn't go as far as saying it was a good performance.

We never looked even close to scoring, or being likely to. It was only their keeper throwing the ball into the net that gave us the point.

We huffed and puffed, we struggled to make our mark and Russell, for all his effort and running, just doesn't have the technique that Martin has to keep the ball - it just bounced off him most of the time. He's best with the ball to feet, facing goal and running at the defender.

Passing was largely poor, defending was good at times and verging on near calamitous at others, although we mainly got away with it. Their goal was well worked but very bad defending from us - Jerome not only had enough space and time to roll the ball into an empty net, he could probably set out a deck chair and taken a few minutes to read the match day programme as well.

We set out for a point, packing the midfield and closing them down as much as possible. It mainly worked. Norwich w

We don't really have much choice on leader at the moment. Keogh's not a positive leader, Hanson gave him a poorish ball at one point and his first option is to berate the lad, not go to him, be positive and tell him he is better than that. Comes to the fans and waves his arms and that's about it...
Hopefully Thorne will take the mantle going forward, certainly next season as Keogh won't be here then.

Ah now there you go... IF we would have stayed in the cup our game against Boro might have been rescheduled thus meaning we are not playing a crucial league game against one of our main rivals when we have no players. Might have worked in our favour.
Did Reading have a league fixture this week?
