    Form and the run-in

I've put form stats up before, and current league positions now are showing how right they've been. So how are they currently looking for the bottom seven?

    Last 6 games

    Oxford 9
    Hartlepool 9
    Cheltenham 7
    Carlisle 7
    Cambridge 6
    York 5
    Tranmere 3

    Last 10 games

    Hartlepool 15
    Oxford 13
    Carlisle13
    York 9
    Cambridge 7
    Tranmere 7
    Cheltenham 7

Cambridge are in poor nick and Tranmere are still in the clarts. York are still also performing worse than us. So what's the run-in looking like?

The average league position of our remaining opposition is 13th, the same as Hartlepool, Oxford and Cambridge. York seem to have an easier job as their average opposition position is 15th, though they only have 4 home games left. Cheltenham (average = 10th) and Tranmere (9th) have the most difficult run-ins. Both of them have to play six games against teams in the top half, with Tranmere's job the more tricky. Their top 6 opposition are all going for automatic promotion or a playoff position.

In the last 10 seasons the average points total required to stay up, in tier 4, is 47.5.

52 Was the most ever required, in 05/06.
    41 the least in 08/09.

    We've currently 40 pts. from 37 games.
Our projected points total is currently 50.

Looks like we are relying on other teams Tranmere/Cheltenham.

I cannot see us getting any more than 5 points from the last nine games.

Well Well well... Blowing on my finger nails and polishing them on my silk shirt.

I gladly, will stand on my record of never having doubted for a moment, that the Blues would prevail through this poor season to remain in League 2 for next years run at the title.

I would invite all to check my body of posts on this MB. And ask, my fellow chatroom-ers to see if I have ever made any kind of statement that could be construed to have meant that I thought this team would not be staying up for next season.

Others of weaker stuff and less knowledge of the game may have had their lapses in confidence for the club final place in the standings this year. But, never was that so, for your loyal and undaunted FellowTraveler.

I have confidence in confidence alone...

That's all very well FT, but it'll be scant consolation if we go down.

I too am in the positive camp, for a while now I get the feeling that this team is capable of a decent run.

    That's it I've cursed us

edited to ask Jay: Have you ever had a half full pint?
