Our local popular award winning newsman/columnist, Biff Barker, had a bomb removed from his car outside of BP today.

The Cumbrian Bomb Squad successfully removed the device after clearing the surrounding area this afternoon. Stating, "it was a mid-sized device and was a serious threat to all in the immediate area - certainly, to anyone in or near to the vehicle." "We are taking this all very seriously."

Biff Barker told this N&S reporter, "I wondered, why my door was opened on my car - when, I had returned to it after a meeting at BP with the management."

"I got in and nothing looked like it was missing."
