    Sheff u Match report

Quite surprised when I saw the team selection but you have to praise the management team as it worked. Uche down the middle, LDV on the right and Ajose on the left. Atkinson straight swap for Jones, Tate and Davis in the middle who were both excellent. We started brightly and the game ebbed and flowed with both teams having periods of posession but surprisingly Blades looked pretty toothless in posession where we looked like we could create something. A nice move saw Uche play a lovely ball into LDV in the penalty area and he finished really well. Moments later we had a fantastic counter attack which saw Ajose one on one with the keeper but he would have been disappointed with the shot as it was comfortably saved. There was a slight panic where Rachubka leapt weakly for a ball and dropped it under pressure and the ball was rolled into the empty net. Fortunately the ref blew for a freekick but I've seen others not give it. The keeper really does not fill with me with confidence and he j

Thank you. An interesting and informative take on the game.
Your understandable bias shines through (taking a bet on Coco ) and I have read elsewhere that the goalie was better and looked to be settling in.
It's great to read comments from a guy who was actually there. I can watch BBC 'ticker-tape', I can listen to McGarry, but nothing beats the Alex fan who's really been - and savoured a historic victory first hand.

He (we) do go to the occasional away match, knowing AL he will probably say that games at GR are away games,in terms of the miles he travels.
Hopefully going Chesterfield, which for us could be classed as a home game, again based on miles.
If Burton come up and we dont go down, now that would be a home game,

Thank you. We've also been to leafy Wycombe, passed Vale Cemetery on the way to Stevenage, shared a beer or three in Shropshire, and I have been to several other games previously. We ain't made o' money, but we go where we can.

I am really looking forward to Burton. I hope that comes off.

I am unsure whether Al has ever mentioned travel on this forum

Perhaps it's not such a good idea to be so presumptuous that another supporter does not go when they can to where they can. There are some fantastic Alex fans who only turn up very occasionally (and possibly follow the club on here) and some who, for a variety of reasons, don't attend at all.

My brother lives in Sydney and finds travel a little difficult. That doesn't make him anything less than a die-hard Alex fan!
