Which players would you ship out?

Its becoming apparent that "the team that Clough built" is not good enough to get out of this league, so which players should be shipped out at the end of the season?

Clough built a team to "challenge on the top six" I think you'll find and that's what it is and doing!!!!

Mcclaren was brought in to improve it quickly and gain promotion. Mcclaren has failed at every turn even tho outgoings have increased by £5m to make it anything better than it was.

That's where the blame lies and if it really doesn't work out I am quite sure he won't stick around or has the ability to do so like Clough did during more years of austerity.

The blame lies at the managers door...

Your wrong on a number of fronts, one it was you claiming that the £5 million was at least partly down to Clough as he was in charge for half the books! The additional spending - contracts players actually took place in the current financial year, so either your as good a soothsayer as you make out or as per usual your talking garbage.

As usual you bend the facts such as they are to suit your view.

Clough never got near the top 6 and

The £5m would be Thorne £3m, albentosa £750,000, Christie £250,000, warnock £100,000, Roos £50,000, ince loan fee £600,000, bent (loan fee) ?? Lingard (loan fee ) ??

We are paying high wages for bent and ince plus Bryson, Hughes, Hendrick and grant have all signed lucrative new contracts which will show on next years accounts.

The only thing that will stop the club showing this season to be a massive financial loss would be the big money sale of will Hughes.

Say of it what you will whilst the footballing side of things has increased significantly we have gambled big this season on promotion and it hasn't worked

Havnt we slated clubs for trying to buy success before? Now we have jeopardised all the work clough did in stabalising the club after many rocky years of financial turbulance

I've said all season that the defence is just not good enough, you feel that every time the opposing team has the ball coming forward that it's going to end up in our net!
It's a shame but we are not ready for the Prem.

If we were to get promoted through the play offs I'd be a worried man with the defence we've got, we'd be ripped apart every week!

Will be interesting to see how many players are shipped out and who will be coming in, at the moment I'm on a downer again! :/

I am afraid I agree with much of what has been said. We are no where near Premier League quality and I now hope we do not go up. We would suffer the same fate as the last time we were there and I never wish to see that again, it was embarrassing.

The defence is not good enough for this league never mind the Premier league. I would probably say the defence is very poor all round. Grant and Christie are liabilities, Keogh is no higher than Championship standard, Forsyth is Jekyll and Hyde.

Brian Clough once said you must build a successful side from the back. This we have not done and it is now starting to show.

McClaren's lack of vision to see these weaknesses worries me.

Personally I would ship out Grant, Christie, Keogh and start again. I am not convinced about Forsyth but I would retain him. Albentossa has not been great but it is still early days for him so I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Thorne is rapidly becoming a sick note despite his quality. We should not be

I also think he will be gone. But for the life of me I don't know why Newcastle want him with his dodgy eye for a player. But if they are willing to give us 2 millio for him i would snap there hands off and go and get Mark Warburton.

    Looking towards the prem.

Christie - liability, not even a championship player
Russell - good championship footballer, only got a left foot
Shotton - Championship player at best
Buxton - no pace, championship player
Grant - to inconsistent, good championship player
Forsyth - ok defensively, woeful going forward, distribution and crossing.
Warnock - why did be sign him??????

You're all so wrong, I have it on good authority that WHEN you get promoted you will have a competitive side for the Premier league.

Half of your team are definite Premier League quality.

Well you might have slated them but I bet most fans dont give a ****! But of course we all slapped ourselves on the back and said, we are ru
