Defensive Coach?

I know we have management who can coach/deal with goalkeeping/midfield and forward play, however do we have a defensive professional in place, neither mac/steele/simpson are qualified in working with/coaching our defence. I feel this is clearly where the problem lies!!! Get someone in who's specialism is defence, we've got the rest!!!!

I couldn't disagree more. The goals we are conceding are down to individual errors. Last night's were down to a) a player getting caught in possesion and b) an excellent defence splitting pass.

How would a defensive coach have helped prevent those happening.

The Middlesbrough goal, a player giving possesion away. Norwich goal, players switching off. I could go on. A defensive coach would not be able to eliminate basic player errors.

I understand what you are saying, however i couldn't disagree more. Yes individual errors, but Team defense requires coordination. The individual defenders must be coached not only about individual defending, including marking, covering, distribution and tracking, but also about how to move in tandem as a team, at the moment the defense does not move properly as a unit.
