    Thoughts from a non-regular...

Now I’ve not been in a while – as explained before, location and family make it difficult – so if I’m off the mark slightly with my perspectives go easy on me.

Firstly, what a game and day it was form the weather, to the turnout and more importantly the performance. As big a game of two halves as I’ve seen in a long time…totally different but equally entertaining, although one was slightly more taxing on the heart rate.

The first half we played some fantastic football and pressured them well, an early goal whilst it always helps can set the tone for negativity early on and this didn’t really come to fruition with our fluid movement and willing to press. However, this was far from the case after half time – we simply decided to shut up shop from what I could see. In my mind you can’t do this in the Championship – teams need just one chance and they’ll score given the quality of the players. The fact Brighton didn’t do this is testament to two things – our fantastic dogged gritty

Well thought out post saxon - good to see the game through a fresh pair of eyes. I agree with most of what you posted with slightly different emphasis here and there. I think the club will buy quality if they will come, if they will accept our wages and if their clubs will sell them to us and if we don't get outbid by silly money - all those if's are why we are in a relegation battle and can't be laid at the manager's or chairman's door.

same as you Saxon, Perth is a bit too far for me to travel with my last home game being v Peterborough at Millmoor with Derek Holmes being our hit man!

Still not seen the NY stadium in the flesh and can't wait to attend a game.

Considering 4 of our back 5 yesterday are loan players and the preparartion other teams have that we ccan not match eg Brighton private jet to doncaster, staying up (if) is a MASSIVE acomplishment.

    Thoughts from a regular regular

Martinez – A class keeper, we're lucky to have him. Commands his area well, my m.o.m after Smallwood

Hunt - A very steady game, looks comfortable

Rawson – Another young player we are lucky to have, well done Steve Evans for bringing him in. Looks like he could go a long way in the game.

Broadfoot – A steady game, the expected "clubfoot" wasn't seen much

Lafferty – Did well considering he has Pringle playing in front of him. Ditto limits his going forward abilities.

Smallwood – M.O.M by a distance. Got the agression that our other midfielders lack. Actually tackles instead of waving a leg.

Arnason – A calming influence when it mattered but for some reason can only go right.

Bowery – Great cross for the goal, but overall an idle lump too easily bullied off the ball.

Green - A great workrate and does the simple things well but oh Lordy he panics when he gets a sniff of the goal.

Pringle - The dog in the park chasing a ball, amusing but not produc
