    Caldwell

Sky sports say Gary Caldwell has been made manager, with the deadwood staying on to assist him.
Ummmmm I reserve judgement on this, seems very hasty to me. I would have looked at Nigel Atkins he was available.

League 2, lets not be so hasty now, I think we can get back to the premier league, the Northern premier league that is. We may pass other FA cup winners Coventry and Wimbledon on our slide.

Caldwell, I predict a whopping zero points garnered.

As the fella next to me at games used to shout "Bloody rubbish that"

Oh no,just when you thought there was light at the end of the tunnel we appoint Jimmy Krankie Caldwell as permanent manager.

I'm not happy about it but won't be having a tantrum or threatening not to go again. I'll give him my full support just like I did for mackay.

As the club's laying on free transport there's no excuse not to be at Fulham on Friday now.

Again it looks like the cheap option, keep what we have in place, until Div 1 next season.

    Fans short changed yet again.

Wonder how many season ticket holders we will have next season. I for one will want to know who will be in charge, and what sort of a team we will have before I purchase mine.

how about a 2.5 hour drive to wigan to get the free coaches in the first place that's a good enough excuse - believe me if i could afford to go to London on friday i would be there

I heard the rumpour about Caldwell last night when i got back from the game wasn't quite prepared for it to be a permanent appointment though - don't think it matters for the next five games I know Jesus rose from the dead at easter but it has just about relegated us next season it will be virtually a new team with caldwell in charge - how many of the backroom staff stay remains to be seen but

you know who is in charge next season Gary Caldwell
as for the team well, at the start of every season we never know what team we will have but you can look at the players we have at the moment and most will probably move on.

The only question you need to ask is 'do you support Wigan athletic' if the answer is yes buy a season ticket the only reason not to would be if you can't afford it

    re: Caldwell

i think this is a clever appointment... his heart is in the club... he will have the players motivated and fighting for a place in the team... he will also get rid of the ****e that has been in the side for the last 6 months.. he might even play Waghorn and McKay up front ... people jumping on hes not a major... majors have ****ed us up big time and left us in a position where we are almost relegated.. to the 3rd division. lets get behind Caldwell and just hope we can turn it around... If not then he starts fresh next season..so many negative comments on here already. He sees the team , the squad week in week out.. He knows who shouldnt be in the side and I bet you he changes some of the starting 11 for the next game..
Do we really need another journeyman manager or give Caldwell a chance ... he could be an excellent manager / coach.. Sharpe needs to clear out the deadwood of barrow and black to give Caldwell a chance to succeed

Your final comment, Lincoln, is one of the most sensible comments I've ever read on these boards.
