The idiots who selected our team

Yes Steve Davis and Neil Baker stand up and take a well earned round of applause. What a selection. Do they pull thes out of a bowl?

I will quickly pass over the normal selection of Turton, whose first touch is awful, and his passing even worse. He has no understanding of what a wingback does.

The selection of the 3 small forwards was an experiment. As baker said on RS it is time we gave Ryan a try in the team. Talk about incredible. Fine time of the season to be trying new formations considering the predicament we are in. It may have worked if they had selected a strong midfield who could get an iron grip on the centre of the park and supply on the ground service to the front men.

But no this was the worst part of the team selection, Atkinson, Jones, and Ness. None of the three capable of tackling or physically controlling the middle of the field. After 15 minutes Orient completely swamped our midfield. It was classical men against boys. What idiots would have made th

As I have commented elsewhere, personal abuse is not acceptable. You are entitled to an opinion, of course. But to refer to Steve Davis and Neil Baker as idiots is downright rude and objectionable. If you were to say it to their faces you would be entitled to expect some response. But you know you are not going to get that from them on here.
For the record, Nolan was introduced due to an injury to Ness who had been quite effective up until the point he was kicked out of the game.

The reason for the lack of bite in midfield is partly down to our main biter in chief being suspended for two matches. Something that to a large degree is out of the manager's control. Nolan did ok when he came in apart from giving the ball away with his first touch when we were looking to relieve pressure. As for Oliver Turton, I agree that he had a poor game yesterday but on the whole has done ok in a position that is probably not his best. Personally I would prefer to see him in midfield with Grant with

Team selection was poor yesterday but the battle was lost in central midfield and we had few options there in fairness. I don't like Turton at right back. Time to give Toots a go?

Personally wouldn't label Steve an idiot for that but his behaviour at the final whistle earned him that tag from me personally.

What did he do at the final whistle?

There were options beyond leaving Jones and Nolan to get overrun!!

After the injuries to Ness and Atkinson Tate or Turton could have been pushed into midfield at the expense of one of our forwards who didn't get the ball anyway because of the midfield shortage.I defer to professionals in most of the tactical issues but not responding to that situation baffled me and everyone around me

As soon as Atkinson and Ness got injured, my first thought was bring Nolan on for Ness and put Turton in midfield for Atkinson and put Guthrie or Stewart as LB or RB. Why Davis thought a 4-2-4 formation would work when the two midfielders were Jones and Nolan. No offence to either players who I think will become very good.

About the team selection I agree Davis often baffles me with his team selection. Sometimes it is good but often not.

If I could pick the team injury free it would be

    4-3-1-2

    -----------Garratt----------
    -Tootle-Davis-Tate-Leigh-
    ----Grant-Ness-Nolan----
    -----------Jones-----------
    ---------LDV-Haber-------

This for me is the strongest team we have. Anyone else agree? Or atleast a team similar?

NevtheDev where is your courtesy, dignity, and respect at all times, when you make a totally dishonest statement to add substance to your criticism?

As you are no doubt aware the statement "Also disrespectful to tell the wage payers to F**K OFF" has no foundation at all. At best it is a figment of your imagination or alternatively a blatant lie.

You all have my assurance that I have never made this statement. In that case is this not a real example of abuse of a fellow supporter and poster. To smear a supporters image to make yourself appear righteous.

In these circumstances I suggest that NevtheDev responds by saying he was mistaken. That there was not truth in that statement, and apologise. In anticipation of your reply

To Timmy and Nev I would remind you that this is not a court of law, or a church. It is a football forum where it is the norm for posters to be outspoken. In many cases poster feel it is necessary to use swear words to emphasise their feelings.

So, Lukcour, you are able to be downright rude to an individual or individuals that realistically have no right of reply, but I can't voice my views about your thoughts or anyone else's if it contradicts your viewpoint. I have no particular issue with swearing but I consider it offensive to label someone an idiot for doing their job to the best of their ability. Easy to criticise someone from behind a keyboard.

Lukcour Calm down mate, I think it's you that's mistaken and perhaps a little bit paranoid. Nev's statement is referring to Steve Davis outburst on Saturday methinks.
