    Improvement ...?

OK so now we know we cant beat last seasons point total ... as statistically predicted a while ago lets just look at some more facts.

    The Facts

    1. The current run of none games of 1 win, 4 draws and 4 defeats was last equalled Feb/Mar 2013 at a similar point of the season but nothing to play for and fans crying for players to be blooded and formations to be tested.

    2. The time equal and currently slightly worse than this was Oct/Nov 2011 during the rebuilding years when the best players were gone and we had to scrape round for bargains in the lower leagues.

    Something to Consider

Before anyone shouts injuries ... welll apart from those being part of the game and its a amangers job to have adequate cover but also look at the injurys during these periods!

    My Opinion

I still think as I have said all along we will finish 4/5 and possibly still go up (depending on who we may get) but I think we are weaker as a team and a club than we were 18 months ago when McClar

allow me to shout. we didn't really have any injuries last season to key players. results wise there hasn't been an improvement but we all know (even you) that external factors such as injuries have been very different this season. it's impossible to compare on a like for like basis.

however if we were, it's worth noting that we've still made improvement based on any of the seasons that nigel was in charge. (after all that was the basis of your whole original 'progress' argument).

Isn't this fun? The emotional roller coaster of being a Derby fan.

I don't think the team is better than Clough's. I think Mac is a better manager in the fact he can get the best out of his players where Clough seemed to struggle

I still dont think mac is great but one thing is for certain

The excitrment factor is back..it's way better than mid table stuff..there's no Ummm ermmm ummm ermm on East midlands today or radio Derby.

He tells the fans how it is

We are better even if it's only 10 or 15 points better

But more importantly, rather than looking back, will it last

One things for sure..it's got some fights going on this forum, probably made it more exciting as well

The proof is in the pudding and I have been proved right! On all points some of the individuals put forward ...

That a side its a good discuission point especially now there are qute a few more posters with different opinions and people arent being steam rollered but just a few.

Point is SteveJay the football we were playing 18 months ago when Clough left was exciting, Brentford Cup, millwall Away, and that goal at Yeovil.

Results and performances now under McClaren are comparable to the first three years under Clough rebuilding!

Rats Ii will tell you what I really enjoyed about Clough I loved paying £95 in tickets petrel and food for myself and to lads to watch Rob Hulse play centre back and wonder why we lost 3-0 I really thought Clough was a great manager when I was at Fratton Park to hear him screaming at Thomas Cyfka using language you would not call a dog I sure we all thought he was great at the Ipro when he used to play Bucko as a striker for the last 20 minutes that took brains Bet you were gutted when Bent got that extra time equaliser bet it ruined your weekend

Yes you are right on the money there. He would have been more disappointed than any of the the Brentford players, staff & supporters.

Found this in Wikipedia today - can't believe how appropriate it is to our master poster

"Although non-specific concepts of madness have been around for several thousand years, the psychiatrist and philosopher Karl Jaspers was the first to define the three main criteria for a belief to be considered delusional in his 1913 book General Psychopathology. These criteria are:

    i) certainty (held with absolute conviction)
ii)incorrigibility (not changeable by compelling counterargument or proof to the contrary)
iii)impossibility or falsity of content (implausible, bizarre or patently untrue)"
