    A sobering thought

I am not sure how many will have noticed, but with 3 games to go Tranmere are now at the bottom of the football league, and after 94 years in the FL(exactly the same as Crewe) , relegation looks likely.

That will mean that along with Wrexham ,Chester and Stockport they will reside within the Conference structure.

Who would have guessed 20 years ago that 4 relatively local rivals would no longer be members of the ’92 ?

With all the criticism that Bowler , Davis , Baker and the players are enduring , perhaps a moment to reflect, and consider “ are things really so bad’ ?

A very good post Supercrewe. Of course, things are not so very bad. If we were to be relegated things would still not be that bad. Disappointing, yes. But as long as John Bowler et al are at the club then I believe we are in good hands. It is disappointing to be perpetually struggling but I would much rather be us than Tranmere and, indeed, any of the others you mentioned. You could add to that list Portsmouth who have really fallen, and the likes of Grimsby and Bristol Rovers. On balance, I think we are doing ok!

Absolutely...I bet fans of Scarborough and Hereford would do anything to be where we are. Luton dropped from the top division to conference too.

Cheltenham don't look too healthy either considering they were at Wembley 2 seasons ago!

Big reality check for Heir Adams at Tranmere though...not quite as good as his mouth suggests

Yeah we’re doing OK, bet teams The Alex have played on a regular basis in the past are looking at us now, the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford (who we beat in the play off finals) are looking at the Mighty Alex now thinking what if we could be like that?

But we’re doing OK, nothing wrong with going nowhere mediocrity to keep folk happy. Because there will always be somebody to tell lifelong Alex fans that they are w..kers and that they should Foxtrot Oscar for wanting the best for their team, their town and for their lifelong contribution of hard earned money over many years should they show any discontent with the effort and contribution being put in by the benefactors of that time and money

If you want to sit there quietly and applaud politely the rare glimpses of skill that used to be the norm on a Gresty Road pitch that’s fine, but please do me a flocking favor and don’t come over all holier than though about people who have a bit more passion in their bones and bit more back b

Yeh, because someones passionate about what they believe they must be right!!

Whats the point in tub thumping about how good the club used to be in its most successful period in over 100 years?

I don't think anyones happy with the current state we're in but there's no doubt that Tranmere, Wrexham etc prove that if we'd have been managed differently we'd be in a different state.

Passionate enough to boo a couple of young midfielders thrown into the deep end and struggling?

Passionate enough to make a bit of noise to keep the lads going if you sit in the main stand (as do I) then I don't think so. It's a bit embarrassing sometimes when a couple of hundred away fans make more noise than the whole of Air Product's

Passionate enough to make the team you support rather play away from home?

We really have to get behind the team for these last two home matches.

Vent your anger on here in the meantime, and after the last game if it all goes wrong if it makes you feel better but be part of the solution not part of the problem

I don’t recall saying people with passion are always right, but at least they do make some noise, and show that they care. Even if half the time it’s just to shout obscenities at the referee. Which brings me to an interesting thought, maybe that’s why there have been so many bloody awful referees at Gresty Road this season, we should all be cheering them on, that’ll make them improve. Can I suggest Mr. Salisbury should get the biggest cheers next time he officiates a Crewe game, because he obviously needs the most encouragement.

But seriously I do sit in the main stand, but I get wound up by the number of complete sanctimonious morons who sit there and moan and mutter when other fans do make some noise, support their team and show a passion for not putting up with bloody awful decision making by the manager and sloppy careless play by professional footballers, who for whatever reason don’t seem to really care less. I have to admit I was very impressed on our recent trip to Chesterfiel

Not 'that bad' this year, but maybe next hey!

I can guarantee you league survival - it's called stay up in Lg1, well away from the trap-door.
