Said this before but I still think we need to spend money on the infrastructure with better coaches and a fully functional scouting and youth system.

Having "massive" teams on our doorstep can be a major disadvantage when it comes to attendances but can be a definite advantage in mopping up "rejected" young players that the bigger clubs discard. Many players don't reach their full potential until they get into their 20s

As teams like Leeds (and probably now Wednesday)become influenced by foreign owners they will go down the route of buying foreign ready made players and will drop youth players more easily. We need to feed off this but we can't do it unless we have the dedicated staff to spot them.
