    Needed next season

Perhaps this would be a good time to examine our player resources for next season, and to look at areas of the team which will need strengthening.
I will focus mainly on those currently in the First Team Squad.

    GOALKEEPER
Steele/Eastwood/Raya. Obviously, nothing needed here, and - presumably - Paul Robinson will move on.

    RIGHT BACK
Henley/Lowe/Marshall/Baptiste (if we sign him)/Nyambe/Thomson. Reasonable number of options - especially with Henley's improvement.

    CENTRE BACK
Hanley/Duffy/Kilgallon/Baptiste/Spurr/Henry (any chance?)/Songo'o/Nyambe/Conor Thomson. Lots of possibilities, but we need to retain Baptiste.

    LEFT BACK
Olsson/Spurr. Both good, but not much cover. Josh Morris?

    WIDE MIDFIELDERS/WINGERS
Marshall/Conway/Chris Taylor/Paul Taylor (if we sign him)/King/Olsson/Mahoney/Morris. Almost TOO much strength here.

    DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS
Williamson/Lowe/Lenihan. Williamson has done better than expected, but this has been a problem area.

    ENGINE-ROOM MIDFIELDERS
    Evans/Spearing

For me absolutely bang on the money there Aucks.

In no particular order: Cory ok ish, but as a 'presence' in midfield :/
A J Jones 'character' is key for us to progress.
Goalkeeping fine (as it seems to be our forte in locating them).
Defence ok ish (more so if we had a JJ in mid).
A creative player who can actually run with and deliver a telling pass ie Dunny of old, or a Rochina forgiving the 'passing' ability.
Up front - oh dear! RG will be gone as his valuation will be met. JR? no where near convinced his will be, but his salary removal will dictate otherwise.

    My take on what is needed;

Owners? Putting aside them being culpable in us being in the state we are, there is no doubt our gates will falter with their continued stewardship. However, they are funding the clubs continued existence, albeit not a free hand out. So that is a major dilemma.
Would their departure re-energise the major swell of returning support? I am not totally convinced as its been such a long haul an

This has been discussed a few times. Im a bit suprised nobody is mentioning the embargo. I dont think we will strengthen. The embargo stops this. I do think both Rhodes & Gestede will leave. Lyon had people over on Sat and last night looking at Rudi. They are looking for a John Carew type forward. He fits the bill. Its thought they will offer 4 mil. Rovers sre in for James Wilson from United. A smart move imo. I think we should try move heaven and earth. If those 2 do leave, we need a goal scorer. We need to offer him and United, what Boro did for Bamford. Newcastle are ahead of us at this point though.

We don't always see eye to eye champs but you are bang on with your suggestion of James Wilson sadly if we lose both we will need another forward for free/loan
Forwards of the quality of what we have been blessed with this season are hard to come by
I think Gary bowyer is the right man to unearth a talent or 2 to come in and fill those goalscoring boots.
Aucks I really hope that we give new contracts to kilgallon and Williamson both do nothing flashy but the jobs they do are done very well
Worth noting Morris has been reborn in a central role for Fleetwood so might be a better bet than on the wing where he is quite lightweight
Defensively and up front we have a potential problem which if not corrected we will be in huge trouble next season
In defence it is quite easy to correct
Offer kilgallon a new contract then go for Henry on loan if Bolton won't sell baptiste for nothing
Up front is a different matter we could potentially lose 30 to 40 goals
We have established Brown isn't the
