Why does it sound fishy Alf.

£289 for the lowest season ticket for the 2016/2017 season at West Ham's new ground?

I suppose they have to lower the prices. To try to put some bums on the seats.. It's going to look pretty empty most of the time..

Bargain prices should fill the 50000 to 60000 thousand seats

Seems good business sense to me

I heard that this will make them the cheapest season tickets in the Championship in 2016/2017.

Not sure you have got your facts right here Alf.

West Ham putting season ticket prices up 5% next season to offset the lower season ticket price for the first season at the new ground.
Which will be offset by the new television rights deal money.
    Empty stadium?
    I dont think so

    Quote..

"Well they need something to use the ~ £30m profit from moving to the Olympic stadium on.

This is what the fans of Leyton Orient, Charlton, etc were worried about. West Ham being able to use the huge subsidies to undercut them and eat into their supporter base.

Newham (one of the poorest boroughs) have put up £40m even though the redevelopment of the Boleyn will have only 6% affordable housing (West Ham will make about £40m-£50m from that sale and have to pay about £15m for redevelopment).

The London Legacy Corporation will pay about £120m. Given this was partly funded by increases in council tax I would have preferred to keep the money rather than subsidise West ham season tickets.

Also, what they aren't boasting quite as much about is that although there are cheaper tickets, the highest priced tickets have gone up in price significantly as well.

I'm all for cutting ticket prices but it grates when one club can do it due to massive subsidies.

    To put it into perspective
