    Tierney Retires

Shame for him - obviously a much worse injury than anyone thought.

I wasn't at the game so can make no comment as to whether it was a bad foul on him, a pure accident, or a stupid tackle on his part

Anyway, good luck to him - never nice to see it happen to a player - view external link

    re: Tierney Retires

He fractured his talus bone after a clash with the Yeovil player Ed Upson (who went on to score for Yeovil in that match). The talus bone is right below the tibia so to break it the Yeovil player must have jumped on his foot with some force and hard, it usually takes a car crash or something to break that bone. Because it connects all the ankle bones together it can be a tricky bone to heal properly as it affects all the foots motion's. Luckily I only broke my Fibula which shouldn't be too bad. Obviously during my rehab I was bored out of my head and read up so I am now an expert in foot injuries.
