It was Good Performance but its only Half Time. 2nd half to come and we know what that can mean!

Today was probably the best away game I have been to for many reasons.
Obviously the result was excellent but the way we got the result was brilliant. Also the way Coventry looked after us away fans is something to be proud of. The ground is probably the nicest in the league inside and out. The view was excellent and atmosphere matched that.
On to the performance. This resembled Shrewsbury away last season, they showed the fight the desire and hunger to get the three points, and the score was the same!
Rachubka made some great saves, the shot low to his right in the second half was outstanding, as was his save in the first 5 mins, if that had gone in the result would have been very different.
Ray, Davis, Guthrie had a good game, winning a lot of headers, I thought Ray stood out as our best CB, his height really helped against a physical side. He also won the ball for Coco's goal.
When I saw we would be playing just Jones and Grant in midfield I thought we would be battered as the

Went to tesco yesterday for a bite to eat did notice the crewe youth mob picking fights with shoppers bloody idiots funny thing is they don't even look hard lol.
Fantastic result. Pretty much seals our place in what looks a very interesting league next season. Also we seem to have found our front three- I had my doubts whether Colclough would ever come back, with a full pre season he could be immense next season. LDV always had a touch of class and he seems be showing it now. Haber seems to have found his feet. It all clicked yesterday. Just hope it does next season!. Roll on away trips to Blackpool, Wigan, Salop and Coventry![]()

Great result yesterday, but don't get carried away other results didn't go our way so we still have a lot to do and our GD is a problem. Don't expect Swindon to do us any favours they will be playing a reserve side after deciding to rest 7 first team players for the play offs and Swindon have nothing to play for after securing 4th place. Preston on the other hand do have it all to play for but Preston are not unbeatable and Colchester are playing well at the moment so it will go down to the wire 1 point is a minimum on Saturday I think Notts County will beat Gillingham and Crawley will beat Coventry, so we will need a point to jump above Coventry, Colchester and Preston could go either way.
There's certainly hope for the future in the way our forwards are playing at the moment, and yes! they're contracted to us. Just as long as Coco stays out of trouble, because his card must be marked with Burslem's finest.
Nicky can go back to Leeds with our thanks for a job well done. We could never afford him, and his current dry spell of no goals in fourteen games has become a concern.
Uche will never feature for Watford in the PL; why, Anya, a regular Scotland international forward, can barely get a game. He would be happy in League Two, so if we were very unlucky could be considered as an acquisition. But if we were to go down, we could get Vadaine back and work on him.
No chance of Greg Leigh, I suppose, which may be good news for Guthrie.
But what about Ant Stewart, should he be made an offer or do we go immediately with one of our now increasingly sturdy young CDs?
BUT... aren't Grant and Coco's contracts up this summer? 2 people we deffo need for next season - any chance?
The club should move heaven and earth to keep Granty but somehow I don't think it will happen for whatever reason
Coco, for what the club have done for him over the last 18 months should readily accept a minimum wage contract.
I hope the lad sees sense.
Thanks for the reminder, Gazan, I hadn't looked at that contracts list for a while now. From it, I think that the following would happen.
I'd given up on Grant, I must confess. If we once got him, it must have been because Davis seemed marginally more personable than Graham Westley. Not difficult, but two years in, and listening to the same predictable old shtick from the manager, would YOU stay? I'd not blame him for jumping ship. He's put his body on the line for the team, and can long be remembered for his sublime pass out to Turton leading to the third goal at the Ricoh.
Colclough is more worrying. I thought he had a year more, but no, and he is talking about having to 'ask his dad' about any new deal. Sounds like Billy Jones Sr. all over again. At least we had some value out of Jones, but if Ryan thinks that the last few games have put him in the shop window, then who knows what will happen? Given his place of residence, would Vale come in for him?
There'll be no Ness, and Atki
Thank you Ryan for a good - if a little 'rose-tinted' - match report.![]()
Coventry must really dislike us when it comes to games that matter.
I was so pleased that 'ours' played so well and that Rachubka continued his vast improvement. After grabbing the 'Crewe way' with both big, gloved hands, he'll be an asset anywhere.
You - and everyone else - is, of course, correct in that the job needs to be finished on Sunday, but I really hope that the positivity of last Saturday remains for the next few days. It may be 'in our own hands', but not as bad as it was when we were rock bottom and still diving.
