Delia - couldn't mark his neck with a blowtorch

Absolutely hilarious/scary snippet in the BBC gossip column today...

"Celtic manager Ronny Deila says that being regarded as a good person who treats people with respect means more to him than being hailed for his achievements in football. (Daily Record)" - view external link

Does seem a bit off right enough.

Wonder if he has that written into his contract. Don't give me any bonuses for trophies won - just if folk think I'm an all round good egg

I think McInnes could learn a thing or two from Ronny on the respect front as can a lot of the other members of the Scottish managerial clique.

We all know what other Scottish managers thought of Ronny when he arrived. Now they all know they could learn a thing or two about how to carry yourself and also how to get the best from your players.

    A ridiculous statement above.

McInnes has got far more from the group of players at his disposal than Delia has from his. This is evidenced by the fact Celtic have still to wrap up the title despite the huge gap in resources between them and Aberdeen.

As for respect, Delia's topped it all off with some astonishingly arrogant comments about Dundee Utd players today. - view external link

P1sh, the Scottish managerial clique were looking down their noses at the Norwegian guy. I mean Norway, WTF do they know about fitba that we dont?

Typical short sighted arrogance from the Scottish clique, backed up by their pals in the press.

They all have egg on their face now.

McInnes has done well at Aberdeen, but no more than should be expected really. His challenge is taking it to the next level.

Arrogant? What fkn planet do you inhabit where someone complementing a club for producing good players is 'arrogance'?
All he said was that DU should feel good about themselves for producing players that other clubs want. In what kind of twisted mind is that a bad thing?

Exactly. Yet its the same circus routine when you do experience it. At least you've got the satisfaction of taking the shine off it for the other club.
