    Nigel Pearson...

Up to his old tricks again.
I'd always thought he came across well (and sane) on the tv but after that strange incident with the Hull player and now this latest nonsense with the reporter I think he needs a month's R&R in a padded room.

I'll leave you to tell him me old China for the following reason.

"It is the best story about Nigel Pearson, perhaps the best story about any Premier League manager, and it concerns the man still in charge of Leicester City and a pack of wild dogs that he encountered while hiking alone in the Carpathian mountains. Pearson’s most detailed account of the incident came in a documentary Sky Sports made about the newly promoted Leicester last summer. “There was five of them,” he recalled, “and what they do is that one goes for you and the others [circle] around until one of them can bring you down – what they essentially do is rip the throat out.” He said he had escaped them first time by throwing himself into a “patch of brambles and nettles” where he knew the dogs would not follow. When they attacked a second time he had only his walking poles to defend himself. “I backed myself against a tree,” Pearson said. “I thought ‘I don’t want to get attacked from behind’. I was absolutely goosed

Old salts will know what I refer to when saying "Hands to bathe".. Happy memories for me both in the Far East and Indian Ocean. However Martin Allen surely took this a step further than I would have ever fancied...

At Brentford, he proved to be a very popular manager with the fans and an object of curiosity to opponents and media alike due to his unconventional managerial methods, which paid off due to the relative success Brentford had under him on a limited budget. He participated in a 25 mile sponsored bike ride on November 2005 to raise funds for Brentford. To inspire the team, Allen swam in the Tees before a 1-0 FA Cup fourth round replay victory over Hartlepool United in February 2005 and jumped naked into the Solent before Brentford's 2-2 draw at Southampton in the following round.

As for me I don't fancy the Tees or the Solent at those times of the year.

Might be worth taking a minute to understand the huge amount of pressure he's under (and other football club managers). To be fair to 'im, he made a fairly public apology to the media reporter in question.
