    Who the hell scouted Raul????

    The summer clear out should start with the clown who watched any game with albebtosa playing in it and then went back and said "our defensive worries are over boys! Sign him up!" He doesn't even look like a player. Slow awkward rubbish in the air for his height!

    Or was it the case that the 'scout' who went to watch him went out to Spain, had a few drinks in the sun, passed out, woke up the day after the game in a hangover mess and realised that he had to give report?

    Any one see a player where I can't???

    Can't see a single attribute I'm afraid:
    Slow
    Poor in the air
    Uncomfortable on the ball
    Panics in possession

    Actually there has been a small improvement - he has got rid of that pigtail

    Other players don't seem to have any confidence in him

    And remember those that slagged off Simon clough!!!!

    Rush said (apparent at the London meet the fans session) one of the main reasons mcclaren was brought in was to attract a higher calibre of signing. Has anyone seen any evidence of this?

    Don't worry...we can always send him out on loan to Burton Albion, trouble is, they might want to send him back...or was that some other GREAT signing instead...

    Totally agree with your analysis of Rail based on what I've seen. And yet, the data we have from Spain all says he is a good player... Two motm awards this season, in the La Liga team of the month for December. Eibars fans were clearly very upset to see him go. Eibars poty based on Opta scores.

    Don't think I can blame the scouting. I honestly just don't know how to reconcile what I see with all the other evidence.

    We have to assume that he's far better than he's shown, but there are a few mitigating points:
    he's taking time to adapt to a new country and a different intensity of football;
    he's evidently more comfortable on the right of centre (but Keogh has that position sown up (however many clangers he drops);
    he's playing in a defence that is full of players with low/no confidence;
    the make-up of the defence has changed virtually every game that he's played
    there is absolutely no protection from our midfield.
