    more DCFC shambles

It did seem too good to be true that the club, having gained stability with Clough was progressing nicely with a progressive coaching team and supportive boardoom. Now here we are again, amongst the chaos and ridicule that seems to have blighted the club forever.

Like many supporters I hoped it would work out with McClaren, but it has now gone beyond a joke. Macs position now seems untenable.

Very surprised to hear the enthusiasm for the Real Madrid coach. After all its not Ancelotti, just the guy who puts the cones out. Obviously Clement would like to start his managerial apprenticeship at a club like Derby County. Who wouldnt?

So it looks like it could be back to the drawing board. Again !!!

Ffs are you never happy! Everybody has to start somewhere. Mclaren constructed his own downfall simple as that. He's done he's gone. So come on then boys who would your choice be next as clement is just a cone man. Don't say clough either..

I personally think people are right to have reservations. After all whoever comes in is following a relatively successful manager - only the last 2 months of a 20 month tenure went wrong.
I think Mac's position had become untenable to a degree, the overriding belief is that something went off behind the scenes regarding the Newcastle job and everything imploded. It's left a bitter taste and a fresh start might be the ideal.
Good coaches can become excellent managers immediately, look at Mourinho at Porto, but then again look at Phil Brown when he arrived at Derby and was hailed as a tremendous coach. He is now plying his trade in League 2.
Paul Clement has worked in some top environments (and Blackburn with Steve Kean) but there is a world of difference being the main man I'm sure and he would arrive in Derby with a weight of expectation larger than Brown did when he followed Burley.
Having said that Jim Smith was largely unfancied when he arrived at Derby and did a good job so it's op

Progressing nicely under Clough... Stopped reading after that. Lost all credibility.

"Just the guy who puts the cones out"... that just about sums up the credability of the post ...

Why is everyone having such a fanny bleed?

It's obvious that Steve has done something in the last 2 weeks. Rush said there would be no draconian action.

Something has gone off, and we will find out. Rush is too clever not to go into this without his facts straight. It's looking like Steve doesn't want to resign and has been dealing with Newcastle specualtion in a way we feel we shouldn't agree with. That's what the reports are saying. Reports that have been about 90% accurate.

Who was Mourinho, who was Karanka, who was the 7 Watford managers this season?
