    Loyalty

How cheerfully the fans sing " x,y or z is a Ram" and yet when personal ambition or money come into the equation we find out that they in fact, were not a Ram.
It would seem to me that love him or hate him the only manager that we have had in the last 15 years who in fact was a Ram was Nigel Clough.
In terms of ownership apart from a very short tenure by the LOG the only owner we have had in the last 25 years who was a Ram was Lionel Pickering who truly was a Ram, and yet was vilified by a large minority of the supporters.
To my my mind Loyalty to the club counts for everything and for that reason i truly hope Mel Morris can assume total control, we know he is a Ram and is probably alone in this amongst the current senior team at Derby County.

Whilst I agree entirely with your sentiment that there is no loyalty at all in football, I would note that Clough (N)'s demonstrable loyalty had a lot more to do with the fact that no one else wanted him as a manager.

I'm sure if a premier team had come knocking during his tenure promising bells whistles lots of cash and so on, he would have been off like a shot too. But no other ****er wanted him.

So if Steve has used us to work his way back up into the higher echelons, don't shoot him for it. I'm sure you, I or anyone else would have done exactly the same thing in our own fields (indeed probably already have done). He doesn't deserve vilification for jumping ship, although maybe he could have been a little more transparent in his dealings for the last few months.

I have to confess to being disappointed in SM's behaviour, if what we're all being led to believe is going on, actually happens!

I had hoped for more from him in terms of loyalty to the club, given everything he's been saying for much of the past 20 months about what a 'good fit' everything was. I fondly imagined that it might not be all about the money for him but, alas, it's starting to look as though it is.

The only genuine loyalty left in football is shown by the fans who, ironically, are the only ones in the equation who don't benefit handsomely from their involvement. Not only do we remain steadfastly behind the club and never jump ship, but we actually shell-out our own, hard-earned money to do so!

Although there is undoubtedly affiliation with clubs, the days of one club players has long gone with a few exceptions, most of whom have retired.

Its rather fanciful and unrealistic to expect any employee , player or club, t

Fanciful and unrealistic it may be, Swale, but it's still disappointing when somebody in a top job paints such a rosey picture for months on end, only then to leg-it the moment something more interesting comes along. While I take you points about people doing the best for themselves etc etc, football remains a team game in which those who have committed to the club on multi-year contracts, should quite reasonably be expected to honour those agreements and give 100% to what they've signed-up for.

    Hanggggg on stop the press!

Rush himself was the one who went on the record to tell us how mcclaren understood the tradition of the club and had an affiliation with the fans and area that would make a big difference he inferred!!!!

Once rush cleans the egg off his face he can maybe tell us what was actually right in his original statement ... Then again he's been hibernating since Christmas hasn't he

He's a totally disloyal scumbag. Did it once in Derby's past and was forgiven for it. Now doing it again, when nobody wanted him 18 months ago. He's achieved **** all so far, apart from upsetting fans, owners and players

Headline in 2 years time has been written and set in stone
"Crawley Town appoint McClaren as their new manager and the 4,000 fans are angry with the appointment"

He might be rich and be able to buy the most expensive face paint, wig and red nose...but what a Clown the man is...and on the way out, don't forget your brolly!!!

What like the clubs do to player and managers?? I just don't get the expectations, he was hired to do a job, he has done that job pretty damn well compared to other managers we have had in recent times.

I don't disagree that McClaren hasn't behaved in the wisest possible way, but some of the comments ahve been way over the top.

Still there are obviously many who would like a supposedly loyal but average manager to one in demand who has
