That is the mindset we need to get into.
This playoff against 'Rangers' is the biggest tie our club has faced in years and so it is ***** that we are completely and utterly in the right frame of mind for it if we are to stand ant chance. That is how this tie will be won and lost because we are probably a match for them man for man, but our bottle, or lack of, is what will kill us or indeed see us through here.
The most important thing we need to remember is that we need to beat 'Rangers' for the sake of Motherwell FC and no one else. We are not carrying the weight of Scottish Football, or basic decancy on our shoulders, we are carrying the good of our club and absolutely no one else here. We will no doubt have many good wishes sent our way, both on here and on other sites, and in person, wishing us "good luck against Rangers/Sevco" and telling us that "all of Scottish Football is behind us". Well frankly, F+CK Scottish Football and every other club and every other set of supporters.
Some very good points.
What's it got to do with America?!![]()
I work in a facility that's majority populated by Sevco-ites. Of late, they're really ramping up the "we're gonna hump you in the play-offs" keikh. If ever there was just 1 victory for us against that despicable bunch, please, please let it be this tie.
Scottish football will be split over the eventual outcome. Premiership fans will be rooting for us whilst their Clubs will be backing Rangers. It'll be the opposite in the Championship - fans will be backing Rangers whilst their clubs will be backing us. A bit of an oversimplification I know.
There is no doubt about it, this would be the best set of victories I would have ever witnessed. But, the reality is the club find themselves in this position because they could string enough wins together over a several month period to begin with. So, it's highly doubtful they have the stomach to upset the apple cart and hold back "the institution known as rangers" from the culmination of a three year plan to get back into the top league.
As I pointed out before, so many invested parties gain financially when celtic and rangers are in the top league, even though as a sport it kills the league stone dead. The last three years has clearly pointed out that nobody of any authority in Scottish football is interested in making it a truly competitive league.. It's all about two teams, no matter what it takes (playoffs to make sure it was only 3 years anyone?) And therefore next week is really only all about one team, and it's certainly not us.
