Greavsey, here's a story, I might be a bit wrong but it goes something like this...

Australia are playing West Indies, Richards is at the crease and Merv Hughes is bowling.

First ball, Merv "The Swerve" chucks it down the wicket, Richards plays and misses.

Second ball, Hughes lets rip with another fast one, again, Richards plays and misses.

Third delivery, same happens, Richards plays and misses.

An increasingly frustrated Hughes walk down the wicket to confront Richards and tells him, "it's red, it's round and it's about this big", referring to the ball that Richards has failed to hit in the last three ball

You could look at boxing now and Floyd Mayweather believes to think he is a showman, not a patch on the likes of Cassius Clay.

Footballing wise, people see Mourinho as entertainment value, he was the first time around. I find the likes of Rotherham United's manager Steve Evans a laugh. His body size doesn't put him off showing his character. He lives and kicks every football.

Vancouver Canucks had their fiery coach suspended for 15 days after trying to get at the opposing team's players and coach after a brawl started two seconds into the fame that saw 8 players suspended.

Fiery, unpredictable and outspoken he was replaced after a season by the Canucks. - view external link

I totally agree, Greavsey. I also think that a lot of humour in general has been killed off by the PC brigade and people just aren't looking for a laugh any more. Len Shackleton was always up for a laugh. I read his book. Sadly I doubt that we will see his type again.

"Is the worlds second best athlete gay?"

His rivalry with Jurgen Hingsen was real sport but Thompson seemed to take everything in his stride.

    Proper legend.
