Clough and staff to leave Blades immediately

    11:20 25th May 2015

Now - here's a perfect example of why managers should not be criticized for a lack of loyalty to their current employers if they look at other options elsewhere - Nigel is not my favourite manager by a long chalk but he seems to have done OK by Sheff U and what is his reward? A big thank you???? Ah no!

Spot on! I'm not Clough's biggest admirer but would have thought he'd done well enough there tbh.

What is amusing, is that most who go on about loyalty would be offskie from their current job as soon as a better offer came in!

Perhaps this will be a wake up call to Clough.. He cant keep producing boring negative football and expect to stay in a job at a big club..
He might get away with it at clubs with limited ambition but not at places like Derby or Sheff Utd...
A very average manager who I hope has a little step back and looks at what he is doing.

Has anyone else been wondering if Rattea is Mel Morris?

Often out of the country on business. As soon as he gets some control McLaren is out and all of a sudden Nigel Clough becomes available?!?!

I hope Nigel's not got "unfinished business" at the iPro. Don't want him addressing us like a god on the big screen like King Billy did to the dogs!

With all due respect to Mel who's my brothers age, I hope I look a hell of a lot younger!!!!

I predict you will make some more sweeping statements then when as usual get proved wrong you'll go on a happy clapping campaign followed with slow back peddling which will quickly gain some pace in the hope no one will notice ... COMEDY GOLD

For those commenting on loyalty the irony is Clough is one of the few managers around that shows any of that.

As go an average manager picking up a league one side third from bottoms and taking them to two major semi finals and the play offs in 18 months is average!!!! Can anyone give an example of any other manager that has achieved that in such a period ever in history???

I really didn't see this one coming!!!

I thought he'd done well there. Just shows the expectations at these clubs (including ours).

    Back to non-league for Nigel.

His cup performances have to be admired but the list of managers who fail through being too cautious is a long one. He must also be admired for being loyal, honest and straight-dealing but that won't save him if his team's football is pedestrian.
