I have say I don't know very much at all about Paul Clement. I've just watched Gibbo's interview with him out in Madrid and my first impressions:

    1. He's younger than me. That's the first time Derby have had a manager/coach that is younger than me.

    2. He is thoughtful and articulate and has a focused look in his eyes.

    3. He is the sort of chap who commands respect from the start.

    4. He clearly has a plan for himself and an ambition. he has thought long and hard about his path.

I like what I see. So relieved we didn't end up with Sean Dyche.

I hope he copes well with high expectations from the fans. Many see his CV and expect him to be the next Mourinhio. Need to remember he has to learn to be a No1 whilst bringing his coaching skills to the team

Its exciting times, but by no means a certainty that he will guarantee success

    It's a promising interview.

Agree with all of Ellafella's comments.

You don't hear it mentioned very often, but I really like the fact that he started out as a PE teacher. Based on working in a school you can deduce that he should have what it takes to command respect and communicate very effectively.

Based on this I can't see players doing a Tyrone and climbing out of toilet windows hopefully.

It's also a very welcome bonus that he can speak Spanish and French. Definitely an invaluable asset in the modern game.

Coming from Real he shouldn't be in the least bit phased by working with Derby's squad and having just lost his job for not winning the Champion's League, the last thing he's going to be alien to is the pressure of expectation. Which he will undoubtedly have here. First impressions suggest that despite his success he seems well grounded, quite Nigelesque actually in how modest he comes across. Not a bad thing.

Overall, it's a very exciting appointment. Not sho

I'm with you all the way - particularly on the relief with not getting Dyche!

You do not have to rub it in, even if it is probably true.
