Huge experience. Played 24 times at CH for WBA last season in the Premier League. Captain and leader; can also play DCM.
A very canny signing that has almost slipped in under the radar. Good business by DCFC. Getting a slight twinge of "ohhh August 8th. Get in!."![]()
Eustace can't play CB, RB and LB last time I checked.Originally Posted by PartTimeRam
it's undoubtedly his versatility and experience we're wanting.
I expect he'll be a squad player and if we have a season with half the injuries we had last time round he'll probably play a sizable part.

Agree Rapid.
Let's face it; last season we got done by injuries towards the end and were left pretty threadbare. Quite clearly, the Club are putting lots of contingencies in place and Baird is a squad player who will feature when and if needed.
Happy with it. Will also be very good options to fill in across the middle should Thorne's injury jinx hit again.![]()

He as you say very versatile, can play across the back line and Def mid.
Seeing as he played 24 games in the prem for the baggies last season, I can see him in the starting line up, I'd have thought at RB, with Christie as cover? Terry played all games at 35 last season, so if this guy is fit, then this is a good eperienced addition, and a class above Eustace IMO.
Good signing hes very reliable will not break the bank Saw him play for NI last week nothing wrong with his fitness.I can see him starting at right back but hes unlikely to be flying down the wing and crossing
Chris Baird comes across as a decent chap.Originally Posted by ellafella
An honest professional with a lot of experience, he is a solid if unspectactular versatile squad filler.
However, in his appearances for Albion he only started nine League games, and to my memory none of them were at CH.
He played RB, LB once or twice and DM.
Often used as a late sub' to wind down the clock.
Do not expect too much from him, as all told he has not had that much playing time since leaving Fulham in 2013.
Cheers Albion. It's signings like this that could make all the difference to a successful season IMO. Unspectacular but very useful.
100% agree. Bent, Weimann and potentially Ince will take the headlines, but these are the players that allow the others to play - something we badly missed the 2nd half of last season. I still maintain that we would've made the playoffs with Eustace fit and Baird is even better (and more versatile).
Really excited about what's going on, but still feel a tinge of apprehension due to the possibility of upsetting the squad
