Grant gave his all while at the Alex and I respect him for that. He was not afraid to tackle hard and often worked well when linking up with attackers.
But let us remember that it was the midfield that was so poor last season, and Grant was the linchpin in that midfield.

Unless the discipline at Vale has improved I think the chances of Grant picking up a few cards will be even greater than his time with us.

Yes but he is likely to pick up more Points than cards,starting with 3 against us. THATS 2 players lost in one week all down to money,but Vale and Shrewsbury dont have Academys around there neck sucking the money from 1st teams building.

It's another loss for the Alex IMO - with Toots, Leigh, Grant, Shearer gone its a lot of experience - I just hope Steve knows what he has in mind - top priorities now are GK, CM, LB and CB

Id be more than happy if we got Ness, Tate, Rachubka back - with the likes of Jones, Bailee, Cooper in the squad there is potential there but experience is needed - a defence of Bailee Ray Davis Guthrie scares me hence would love to see Tate back.

Surprised Davis comments saying he'd like Tate if budget allows - surely shearer, Toots, Grant were our 3 highest earners??

Vale have signed quite a few of ours recently, (is that 4 on their books right now?), but they never get our BEST players, do they!
