    The silence is deafening!

Is this the calm before the storm?
Or was the speculation a few days ago BS?

From what I have read and heard this is indeed the calm before the storm.

The date that is important is the day we fly to Holland on tour.

Clement will want everyone in place for that.

I'd say Ince and Shackell are nailed on.

No idea about any of the others.

I am starting to think that Nixon's prophecy is indeed Bovine excrement.

Hope I am wrong of course.

    I think there is substance.

    Ince, then Bridcutt to follow.

Burnley and Hull both have accounts that start their new financial year today.

That's thanks to the great Ramblur off the other forum.

They won't want to sell 'til today at the earliest. Hull have started the games this morning - i think Ince will be done this week. Paper in Burnley is saying we're not giving up the chase and the tone is different this time. Think we'll be seeing Shackell.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bridcutt came out of nowhere as well.

Sounds like Shackell is a way off. But surely Burnley will be tempted. Highest wage earner and last year of his contract. Plus he WILL want to come back to Derby.

Give it time, early doors yet.

Of Ince, Shackell and Bridcutt, surely only the former is possibly worth breaking our transfer record for.

Beginning to think it might be Dunk rather than Shackell...only guessing though.

Ince is the RECORD breaking transfer (4.75 million) and the other big fee target is supposedly a striker.

As far as I know the situation is this:

Bridcutt is almost certain, but Derby don't wnt to pay the fee Sunderland are asking so haggling going on over the fee.

Shackell - Burnley not keen to sell and deal unlikely to happen (not dead though).

Ince - has talks with Hull this week then may make up his mind, Derby have activated the release clause and prepared to pay the fee - varies from £3 million to nearer £5 million depending upon who one talks to - take your pick on that one, no indication from Ince what option he will choose as one would expect but odds are it will be the one which he thinks favours him in terms of length of contract, wages and prospects of playing in the prem in the near future.

The marquee signing is supposed to be a midfielder or defender, its not a striker according to what I've heard, again no way of knowing how much truth there is in that.
