As you've probably seen, we're apparently done with transfer business for the time being. I fully expect us to not be done just yet, but I'm keen to see what the rest of Derby fans still think we need.
I know everyone is saying that Baird is going to be cover for right back and holding midfield, but I'm still unsure. We all know Thorne is not exactly injury free, and if Christie continues to have a mare then we have ourselves a problem. I personally would like another player in one of those positions, preferably the right back.
I also think we need more depth up front and centre midfield. An injury too any player in these positions and there's no cover. But a loan might be enough here.
And of course centre back should be our priority. But whether that's Shackell or not waits to be seen...

I think Keogh could shift to RB with Pearce and a choice of either Buxton, All bent tossa or maybe Shackell (or is it Shacknell)as a central defensive partnership. It has got to be better than last year surely?
What do we need?
You to make better predictions and stop raising expectations for a start ;-D
Serious answer...I'd still like us to find a 'midfield general'...a real driving force, the type who knows when to put his arm round someone but also when to dish out a *******ing. In short...a real leader. Not sure who the candidates are but they might not come from a top club, Van der Laan was brilliant at it and I think we got him from Port Vale.
as you've touched on it's difficult to say until we know definitively what system we'll play.
irrespective of that though the defence is still a major concern imo.
right back is the obvious one unless shotton books his ideas up. I think he's a much better full back than we've seen but it's still an area we can improve on. not getting lowton was a shame.
I'm happy with forsyth at this level but it seems the jury's still out for some people. I think Warnock's been useless so a shame he has another year on his contract. it's an area we can improve on either way.
then there's the dreaded centre back situation. so much inconsistency with form and personal last season. there looks like there will be some movement.
I can't see us having Keogh and shackell this season. 1 or the other. if we don't get shacks are we looking at Keogh and pearce? is that really any better than Keogh/bucko? I'm not sure. can bucko stay fit even if he's the back up? can shotton be back up if we don't sign a
