A sign of the times ...?

Sad to see both Paul Burns & Stephen McKenna decide to quit fulltime football and take up a job outside the game . That on the back of the Dumbarton player who we tried to sign but he'd rather play part time and keep his day job as he's financially better off

You can't blame anyone for looking out for their futures but it's a worrying time for some clubs that this may happen more often in the future .

The money & job security just isn't there anymore

I don't think the 5 players we lost who have just joined up to SPL clubs would agree with you.

Sad as it is burns and McKenna were at the end of their careers. Probably just lost the hunger and as for the Dumbarton lad, if a SPL club came knocking with a decent contract and wage I'm sure part time football would be a distant memory..

The players we lost to the Scottish Premiership were offered massive pay rises , 3 year deals & job security something most smaller clubs can't do .

We're going to see more & more players quitting full time football to play part time & work out with the game IMO
