    North (Stand) /South (Stand) divide?

Just wondering what people's view of the proposal to kick off towards the South Stand in the second half is?
I'm not sure whether it was a choice made by Derby upon winning the toss to kick off that way on Saturday but from my perspective it didn't have a massive impact on the atmosphere.
Tradition at Pride Park is to play towards the North Stand in the second half and this has been successful doing this. Aside from beating Watford 4-1 a few seasons ago kicking off that way I can't remember another win in recent memory where that was the case?
What do people think, is it tradition, is it superstition, does it matter?

I imagine it was Charlton's idea. Otherwise it would have been decided pre-kick off. I don't think it matters to be honest in terms of result.

But it does matter to me! I love seeing the goals fly in at my end (north stand) during the second half

Think I prefer us to shoot towards the South Stand second half. Dont suppose it matters too much either way though. Did Charlton change ends on Sat? We still warmed up in front of the north stand.

Charlton kicked off first half so from that I would say that Derby chose the ends- we will perhaps see tonight if kicking towards South Stand in the 2nd half is going to be what we look to do.

I sit in the North Stand and not bothered either way

Good point - Charlton did kick off so Derby chose the end.
I sit in the East Stand towards the North. From a selfish point of view I do like to see the lads attacking that end in the second half but I also think it is better for the whole atmosphere as the game pans out.
The North End of the ground seem to be very vocal and create lots of noise when the team are attacking that end - whereas the South will sing regardless. That's just my perception though and ultimately I don't mind which way.
Will be interesting to see what happens tonight

I have seen us play east to west for long periods.. Much prefer North to south though.

But if Derby did choose that end then why didn't we just make it that way in the first place? Since it's our ground?

It's traditional for sides to attack the end they warm up in the second half. So which end is yours ?

Derby have not always had fans in the South Stand- used to be the away end. Kicking towards the North Stand in 2nd has gone back years also became successful up the end of last season. I guess that the club now see it that the more 'vocal' end will be better to kick towards- we will see as the season progresses.
