    O/T Britain, Football and Tourism

    I already posted this on Wolves mad, but thought that some here may find it interesting:

    "You may have already been aware of this news tidbit, but it just popped up in a local paper over here and I thought I would share it.

    - Last year, 800,000 visitors to Britain attended a football match spending more than one billion dollars ($1,000,000,000) during there time there;

    - 40% of visitors who attended a match said that watching sport was the main reason for visiting the country."

    we have a beautiful country !

    loads of great places to visit , i am surprised 40% take in a footie game tbh guess it reflects the fact we have the best league structure in the world ( however most of the 40% i would have thought visited a premier league ground though :-(

    Thanks for the follow-up, griff. If he contacts me through this board it would be helpful, I am living on an island of 4,000 just off the coast of Vancouver, but go into work there every day via ferry and bus. He should be fairly at home here, there are 400,000 first or second generation Brits living in the city!
