    Forfarshire Cup Final

    What better way to spend a fine Tuesday evening, officially the last of the summer, than cheering your team on in a cup final at glorious Gayfield? It just doesn't get much better. Besides, TV programming is crap on a Tuesday night.
    But a good game, end to end stuff, taking the lead with a great terrific header from Munro, then going behind twice, levelling twice with goals from Hester and Gold, some great goals, good saves, the usual sprinkling of weird and wonderful decisions by the officials, then losing on penalties.
    There was loads of energy in the team and some pace up front. Kane Hester, Joao Victoria and Jamie Reid worked their socks off and Munro was solid at the back along with Jordan Lowden.
    Not too disappointed at not lifting the cup and it was good to see the younger lads and fringe players putting in a decent shift and showing that they are ready to step up when needed.

    Absolute excellent attacking performance with lots of energy, similar to our pre-season and game against Hearts, every player gave their all with Clarke and Munro/Stewart excellent against a the dangerous S****ie/Templeman and Reid and Gold attacking at pace at every opportunity and Hester again showing he is worth a chance at 1st team level with his pace/work rate/finding space and an eye for a goal. Lumsden must take heart from this display and carry it on to his 1st team and given some of the fringe players a chance especialy Hester and Reid imo.

    Entertainment from a good side that could easily have won without the two mistakes. Reid was on song firing at goal every chance he got and young Hester now top goal scorer so far for Arbroath

    Photographs from the match;

    Very impressed with Hester, Munro and Reid tonight. Joao also showed some excellent touches and felt that Brodie in goals pulled off some great saves. Only just turned 18 but already has lots of talent.
