We are not toppa the league

How many times have my beloved Pompey done this to me? Build me up to a state of euphoria only to go and lose just when you weren't expecting it? Charlton in the cup nearly 40 years ago (showing my age!) in front of 30,000, Aldershot at home in the old Div 4 with 25,000 there (must be 35 years ago), Gazza's Tottenham in the league Cup etc etc.
Anyway, we actually played quite well yesterday and probably would have won if we'd scored one of the early chances. Problem is that all teams come here and play their biggest game of the season without a doubt so we must learn to break them down and have a plan b. We had 69% of the possession last night but no good if there's no end product as you're always likely to make some individual mistakes. Normally two mistakes doesn't mean two goals but it did on this occasion which left us a mountain to climb. This league looks very tight with the team in 15th only three points of the play-offs.
Oh stop rambling and go and have another cry. If we

Agreed dsmg. I was not surprised either. That is pure Pompey to blow it when we have a chance to make progress. Still a good start, there's bound to be hiccups along the way and we will win on Saturday because I'll be there with some advanced tactical moaning from the South Stand.

No mate that was LdB putting around deceptive rumours. 2 visits to date this season and 6 pts. Long may it continue!

You're bandying about a good strategy there with Hollands LdB. Too easily nutmegged.

    Alby McCann he is not.

Being top of the league so early in the season would be boring if we had stayed there till the end of the season, always looking over your shoulder. Much more fun to be chasing the pack down. We are Pompey after all we and loosing a few matches gives us fans the chance to have a moan and be doom and gloom merchants, something that some of our fans excel at. May even increase the number of fans on here.

Mind you under Awfs so were we most of the time. 2 home wins plus an away draw at Oxford shows much improved form from the Wobbly Warwickshire Cucumber grower.

LdB is like the old salt in Master and Commander. He spots Jonahs everywhere. He will have me jumping off HMS Fratton Faithful holding a cannonball next.

I am glad to see and read that some regular posters are getting stuck in to the technical aspects of football, like being a Jonah and jumping ship with a cannonball. Makes my heart sing, no less. Keep it up lads.
