A message for Andi Weimann

So with Ince's injury, I would imagine it means Weimann comes into the fold on the left (with Johnny moving to the right). I've been giving him some right s*** on this board ever since the season started so I have one request Mr. Weimann. Prove me wrong! Prove that you have a little bit more about you that just running around like a headless chicken (admittedly quite quickly). Last time you had the chance you were rather poor to say the least. This is your chance to make your mark and maybe oust Incey from the team (who himself hasn't been to great thus far either).

He's coming up against Lewis Buxton who's not a great player. He's one of the main targets for abuse up at Rotherham, and he never has been too quick. I can't think of a better chance for him to show that the £2.75 million we spent on his was for more than keeping the bench exceptionally warm.

So there you go Andreas. The mark is there. Step up to it. Prove me wrong. You might not get many more...

RamBam...I have no idea if Weimann reads Derby County Mad but presumably, as you've sent him a 'message', you think he does. With that in mind, and remembering that he's a young player at a new club, do you really think that talking of last chances on the morning of a match is in any way helpful? Personally I think you talk a lot of sense sometimes, but your negativity about Weimann is seriously irritating and possibly, for him, demoralising. A couple of weeks ago you compared him to a 'rabbit' and now a 'headless chicken'. It really doesn't help. Last week he played over an hour and, by all accounts, performed pretty well. I'm sure he's aware he still has something to prove but If you really feel the need to give him the benefit of your personal advice how about getting off his back and just encouraging him to go out and build on last week's positives?

I will always support every Derby player. But I can't help but think this has been a short-sighted signing. He's not only needing to prove his ability to a lot of Derby fans, but need to prove that the club were right to spend £2.75 million (which was a lot of money for us before this season) on a player that doesn't fit in the squad. Also he's 24. He's not that young. Half of our usual starting XI is younger than he is.

Beyond that, no idea how old you are but, being 24 and three months into a new club career in a new city is 'young'. If he's a 'short sighted signing' who doesn't fit the system - and I'm not at all sure that's the case - how is that his fault? Think it's quite likely that you might not see him start today anyway, if we revert to the diamond, but encouragement is, imo, invariably a better motivator than negative criticism, especially a few hours before kick off.

I'll support every player at the game, on here I'll criticise when I see appropriate! A footballer's career is short enough as it is, so we can't wait around for a lifetime for him to adjust. Every player needs a bit of time but I'm struggling to see it ever happening. It's not his fault for being a short-sighted signing, hence why he needs to club right as well.

I think we'll still see him if I'm honest. Can't see us changing our formation when everything's been working rather well recently. Although saying that, if there was a time to experiment it would be against the team that I'd say is the worst in the league.

Weimann did well at Huddersfield. New players can take a while to adjust, especially when they are not starting regularly. I believe he was worth the money, and he will prove you wrong in time. I'm guessing by your last comment that if we don't win by about 5-0 today, you'll be on here again 'criticising as you see appropriate'. Supporting a club is more than just cheering the players on at the game. If you subsequently criticise them from the safe distance of an internet message board, I believe it smacks of hypocrisy.

Rambam Don't listen to them he deserves to be criticised his performances have been dreadful If you cant take criticism you should not be a pro footballer it comes with the rewards and the job What I will say in his favour is he should not be on the left hes totally right footed and Russell does a very good job there All those are saying he did well at Huddersfield are wrong he only did ok he was partly at fault for their goal and should have scored with an open goal at the end Ive been slated on here for the same opinion as you about Ince If we are serious about going up we cant afford passengers
