    McGhee - the first month

How's our leader shaping up after a month? So far so good? - view external link

I'd say so. We're averaging a point a game, ease that average up a wee bit and we'll be in the same league next year. A lot will hang on how MM can ensure 100% effort, fitness, concentration and organisation; I don't think that anyone would claim that we have much genuine class at the moment, so, for me, our finishing position in the league will depend on how many of our players play to their potential week in, week out. There will be bad days at the office; we need to keep them to a minimum.

We were averaging a point a game under Barraclough and looked like relegation strugglers , nowt has changed yet.

Nothing has changed that much at the moment. but I am a bit more confident we will be ok with McGhee at the helm rather than baraclough.

We need to give him time.
2 of the games were against Celtic and Aberdeen.
It's not his players. Hopefully he can improve them

Think it's too early to judge but certainly look a fitter team.My main concerns are that we play nice neat football up to the opposition's eigh**** yard box but then don't have a cutting edge or someone to make the telling pass.We seem to concentrate everything by trying to play down the wings without much success,I have noticed that in particular our next opponents Ross County have lost a number of goals by being exploited directly through the middle with pace. What we don't want is to become is too predictable in our play.

We were rank rotten against Celtic, Kilmarnock and Inverness and lost two of them whilst picking up a fortunate, yet excellent and crucial win at Rugby Park. The one and only good performance in the last month came at Pittodrie where we were unfortunate not to win. Unless things greatly improve between now and May then we will be facing another playoff at best.

We'll see if any progress shows in the next couple of games (he'll have had a couple of weeks coaching them due to international break). If no signs of positivity, then I agree - playoffs beckon ... and I don't see Sevco or Hibees forkin that up for a 2nd year !!
