Am still enjoying the Spanish sunshine, although have recently moved. Now midway twixt Granada and Murcia.
Very strangely I sent my chum an email a couple of days ago...maybe you have met him and he was responding to that. But I guess your "terribly terribly" was just a *****iest bit sarcastic.
You never responded to my question about your Dad.....I was wondering, maybe he had the pleasure of hosting Lord Lucan occasionally in one or some of his dens.
I hope you are enjoying your new North Stand situation.I have to say that I am glad I didn't buy a ST this year as would probably have felt it a waste of money if the reports of dire perfo

Always like to use a bit of in cheek Scully. and the world 's with you . Or should. Nothing like a bit of levity to lighten the dark days of winter and escape the doom & gloom of the world and its problems.

Well if you insist and with apologies to other posters

to answer your question . Sadly my Father ( a South London Boy dun good) was neither famous/well known a celebrity or cad/bounder. Simple Accountant who got lucky . Was doing the books for some Yank who owned some small wine merchant chain in London in the 60's who branched into Casino/restaurants/night clubs and asked my Dad to be the Accountant. He rose from that to MD with 50% part ownership then bestowed on him .

Yes lots of famous dudes and high profile persons of the 60's/70/'s and early 80's frequented some of the establishments including UK/USA PM's and other politicians of various nations Sheiks Film Stars like Sean Connery/Sophia Loren and so on the list is quite an extensive one. Dudley Moor

Scurrilous .... Word Origin and History for scurrilous

"using such language as only the licence of a buffoon can warrant" [Johnson], 1570s
From scurrile (c.1500, implied in scurrility), from Latin scurrilis "buffoonlike," from scurra "fashionable city idler, man-about-town," later "buffoon."
According to Klein, "an Etruscan loan-word." Related: Scurrilously ; scurrilousness.
According to Corkus Maximus, related to scully, the elusive lesser spotted Spanish cave dweller
