We desperately need somebody who can cross with his right foot I would go to Bolton and try for Feeney he is the best crosser from the right in this division Probably get him for free
Zac Clough playing off Martin
Personally I would be glad to see them crash and burn into liquidation. If ever there is a perfect role model for how to run a club disastrously this is it. Until an ex established premer league team blows up people will not take the catastrophic consequences of moneyball seriously.
Some may feel sympathy for their fans... not me: they didnt seem to be listening when the debts piled up. They just took the glory - now there may be a price to pay.
So bring on the liquidators and let the new AFC Bolton play at the bottom tier.
Bolton are a case study for any club who let the owner 'splash the cash' without consideration for the long term stability of the club. Garside threw money at long term contracts and they had a few years of relative success, a new stadium and some great players (JJ Okocha being the pick of the bunch). It was a great time for them, like it was for Portsmouth, but if you don't have a robust model to pay the bills after the day the owner either gets bored or can no longer do it then you are a disaster waiting to happen. I don't say Mel is that kind of guy, but a football club is a monster that eats more and more as it grows. If you can't keep feeding it then it will eat you.
Bolton will eventually become another Wigan, Portsmouth and Blackpool if they continue to wrap up debts and don't find a new owner soon, who can ultimately save them from this nightmare. It won't be a quick job though, they are still likely to face relegation and a long hard road back to being on top of their game in the world of football.
So far as I recall the main beef against Blackpools owners were that they did NOT spend any of their premiership windfall wasnt it?
Portsmouth was all down to 'Arry's dog: maybe the dog moved to Notlob?
He looks a promising player Manx. However another Clough coming to DCFC? Hmmmm, not so sure...Originally Posted by ManxRam
