    Tom Ince

Absolutely brilliant today. Contributed more in that 90 minutes than he has altogether so far this season. Looked like a threat every time he was on the ball. Keep the same formation on Saturday for me.

You may well be right RBF, but isn't that the best thing to come out of tonight? Dropping Martin tonight took some courage. It was a gamble that paid off but it won't always be like that and I for one don't want to write Martin off. The beauty of tonight for me is that teams can no longer think, 'stop Martin, stop Derby'. I've no idea what the team or tactics will be against Ipswich, much more importantly, neither will Mick McCarthy.

I think the best thing to come out of tonight is three points, but that's just me being a clever git Ince was badly in need of a confidence boost and some sort of change was needed, Clement made the right one.

It did indeed take courage. Although I would question Bent's contribution tonight, it will at the very least make Martin realise that his position in the team is not set in stone. As for 'stop Martin, stop Derby', I can see where you're coming from but I like to think we have enough quali

Without Martin? Gutsy! But you never know?

I thought Ince's first was pretty special. Nice to see him hit some form, hopefully his hattrick might give him a lift?

I thought Ince was excellent, and it was because he could go left or right as he was in a central position. On occasions he can seem predictable, so it was refreshing to see him centrally, which gave him numerous options, which he took full advantage of.

As for Bent, I thought he played rather well last night. He should have scored with his header, but his assist to Ince took real intelligence, and his movement created so much space for others. Cyrus's late effort came as a result of Bent running the centre backs out of position. I love Martin and everything he brings to the team, but Bent certainly showed me the difference he makes in terms of drawing players out of position. It'll be interesting to see who Clement goes for on Saturday.

I'm also going to be the *bleep* who says "I told you so", as I thought Ince would do well tonight from a central role, see the Bristol City thread . Don't hate me, it's not often I'm right so let me have my fun.

Yes, Bents contribution not to be underestimated. A goal would have capped off a very good performance.

I thought Bent was very mobile, was ultra unlucky to be flagged offside when put clean through by a cheeky Ince chip into his path, headed against the bar first half which bounced away to safety and generally occupied their defen

Having slept on it, I think Bent's movement really made life for Ince a lot easier. I highly doubt Martin would have been able to replicate that. Bent didn't get much time on the ball but when he was he was effective. He maybe should have scored two, having missed a header and miscontrolled a brilliant chance.

Maybe away from home I'd stick with 4-3-3, so the midfield is deeper. At home, 4-2-3-1.

    re: Tom Ince

Watching video highlights of last nights game, it became obvious that Tom Ince is dangerous when he plays a more central position. He has power from both feet which can really confuse the defense when he comes up the middle. May his success continue. Nobody has ever doubted his potential, but he is much more of a threat than when he is playing out wide.
