Thread: Jimmy Hill RIP

    Jimmy Hill RIP

Aged 87. Love him or hate him he was a football man through and though. England mad of course and why not. Made a difference to players when he led the PFA to banish the maximum wage and knew so much when on the box. Thoughts are with his family.

I think you made the right decision, too. Personal preference, obviously, and without referring specifically to the comment or poster above, but I prefer people to have their words left up, intact, where everyone else can see. We're then helped in making our own judgement on the character or quality of mind behind them.

Jimmy Hill was a difficult man for Scottish football fans to warm to, if I remember right, although I've no idea why this was, exactly? And even if I could remember, and even if I had felt this way about him myself (which I didn't), I'd have let it go when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's; never mind in the face of his death.

    re: Jimmy Hill RIP

Scottish football fans are always looking out for someone English to hate. Jimmy Hill fell into that category. Someone convenient to blame when it all goes wrong for Scotland. Even when he told us Scotland were his 2nd team and he always wanted us to win if not playing England.

Personally I didn't like him much, but that's another story for another day. Today lets just say RIP and give our thoughts to those closes to him. His work as a player and Player's Union man are enough for us to give him the respect he deserves as a man and a football man.

Remember an Off The Ball programme years ago, seemingly Scotland were playing England in a Gay football match.Apparently the Scottish fans were chanting "Jimmy Hill's a straight K ant".

I was desperate to find a bookie to give me odds on the scvmbag hvn 54IQ aping walloper and using someone's death to have a go at Scottish folk but the answer was always the same - nae chance. What is wrong with these vicious barstards, why do they hate Scotland so much
