    Rowett: not for me.

First of all it needs to be acknowledged that he has helped to improve the team since taking over. I need also to declare that I am not a fan of counter attacking football with only one up front. After having had the chance on Friday evening to watch a rare match live on television I have to say how very disappointed I was with the whole performance, with the exception of a home win, after what the commentators said had been our worst run since 1923.
Firstly, Vaughan had no support up front for most of the match with nobody comitted to joining him once he had won the ball. Cardiff were first to the ball all night and, had they brought their shooting boots with them, the match could easily have resulted in yet another home defeat. Gleeson tried to play football but the rest of the team were technically incompetent, with hardly a goal bound effort and it was appropriate that the first goal came from a set piece during which the referee awarded a ludicrous penalty for handball, whe

Although I don't completely agree with you ( you have forgotten Torals effort which bought a fine save )we actually had more shots on target but I do agree GR need stop being so negative.
Else where on this site I have suggested that if we don't score in the first 20 mins we should treat the game like an away game just to stop us losing at home.
I think just 2 holding midfielders is enough with an extra attacker would give us more chances.
The Don with Vaughan would look good to me

I am not sure what the commentators mean by our worst run since 1923 , have they erased Clarks record at home

I still believe that it is a mistake to set the team up to play like Donaldson is on the pitch when he isn't. Donaldson has some unique abilities that Brock-Madsen and Vaughan are not able to emulate. We look far sharper up front playing a false nine with Viv and Dimi on the wing and Toral and Shinnie playing through the middle.

    Spion,
The most positive aspect of your rant is the fact that you have ,'once again', decided to stay away from St Andrews.
The team, Rowett and the club really won't miss you.

Nothing personal - thanks for the good news
