Thread: Strachan sounding a little like Calemero

Strachan sounding a little like Calemero

What has Scotland produced recently to suggest our team being in the EURO2016 finals would enhance the competition? Yes the fans would brighten up the event but the point is he is manager of the players and not the fans. Saying 'if' and 'but for' does not get you into big competitions. Any team needs to show by winning games that they deserve to reach finals. Things have improved under Strachan but not to the degree of reaching finals which is what he is paid for.

    Nothing.

Strachan: “There's no doubt about it, the European Championships are going to be worse off without us being there."

I Imagine the European Championships will limp on, regardless.

Least likely post-match response from the triumphant Euro 2016 manager:

It’s an achievement of sorts, I suppose, but that’s a fairly subdued set of lads we’ve got in the dressing-room right now. They know, as I know, that the competition is devalued by the absence of Scotland and her fans. This view is held across the board.

To be fair to Strachan, though, he’s just as likely to come away with shite as the organisation (BBC) which composed and disseminated the piece.

Aye the tournament would be enhanced by Scotland and Strachans managerial know how. The team and the man that amassed 15 points .. by beating ultra diddies 3 times , mediocre diddies once and a couple of draws. Frankly anybody could have managed that pathetic outcome. The only people who will notice Scotland aren't there are Scotland fans and frankly we would just be our usual embarrassment.

fact is scotland were unlucky with 2 bad offside decisions that cost us, other factors came into it too.

scotland were better than many teams who did qualify from other groups and scored some belters of goals that others didnt.

maloneys goals v poland in warsaw and v ireland in glasgow being the hightlights.

with quality like we had upfront, we have plenty to look forward too.

Could you imagine reaction in Scotland if the manager of England had come out with that cr@p after failing to qualify?

oh I get fed up listening to the unlucky p1sh (nae offence mate)if we didnt make basic mistakes so often the odd rub of the green that goes against us wouldnt be so costly.

the fact remains, scotland are better than many teams who did qualify for the euros.

albania, iceland, republic ireland, northen ireland, wales, romania. for starters.
