    transfer deadline day

Tomorrow the window closes and for first time in a while I think rovers will be involved
I can see us bringing in at least one if not 2 creative midfielders with a bit of pace
we looked sharp on the counter yesterday and with a bit of pace centrally we will see the benefits of a pressing game.

I think a grafter or 2 will be on Lambert's radar 1st. It would be good from a watching it point of view to see a creative midfielder. But it might be too early. Lambert is overhauling the team, not just in terms of players, but more in mentality. I think his plan is not a short sighted on, but more long term one. Get a core of gritty players that will work to wear out the opposition and play for each other 1st. My guess is, if he's shrewd, will be to see out this season aiming for anywhere higher than the bottom 3. Then in the summer get a few in to add some creativity and flair to try and catch out a few teams in the opening games of the season, who's knowledge will be based on the season before. I'm quite optimistic with what's happening, even if from the outside, it looks like we're weakening

What's also quite clever, Dan, is that he has given lifelines to several players he has known before, but who were treading water at their previous clubs. This should mean they are very keen to put in the effort and impress. He is clearly trying to carve a temporary team that is more than the sum of its parts, built on determination and spirit.

Josh vela of bolton and aiden mcgeady of everton have apparently had medicals and are holed up in a hotel waiting on the stalled Rhodes deal going through to confirm their signings.

To be honest I'm not sure what Lambert wants with these two(a right back/defensive mid and a winger), but I'm sure he knows what he's doing..

    This is a right mess!
PL's probably in need of cold towels and a bottle of Scotch!.

Add the venky factor into all this and it doesn't bear thinking how it will end.. If boro try to lowball us on the price I can't see them budging.
