    Veiled comment?

Just read the piece re: JR's comments over his transfer.
The one over him stressing it was nice 'to arrive at a place that he was really wanted.'
If he has been reading MY critiques over his overall abilities I can only apologise for hounding him out. But as the saying goes, the truth often hurts. Tongue in cheek guys honestly.
But then when I consider back to when he first voiced a desire / complaint of not being allowed to consider approaches, it does not a offer a deal of credibility to this retort.
It would also cast a cloud/doubt over GB's handling also, where he was constantly asked to be the lone man up front , something we all complained over.
My instinct tells me this is emerging from RG winging away end of last season, and his dip in form since has been very evident.
It would appear that there is a niggling bad feeling for us, post his release.

Makes the up coming 're-equainting' very tasty in prospect. If there is some bad blood there, is my mate Grant gona be let

It's a bloody cheek, really. He (or someone) turns Boro down because they aren't offering enough. and then he says he's glad to be there because they truly love him, whereas he wasn't really wanted at Rovers.
As you say, Despair, it's not clear who he's referring to. Both the owners and GB made it clear by over-pricing him that they DID want him. So does he mean the fans? Well, if he had made more of an effort to be an all-rounder, feelings towards him might have been warmer.
Did he not get on with Paul Lambert? There have been no obvious signs of that, so it looks like he has simply been sulking, as you suggest, since Gestede left.
A bit pathetic, really, but I am still sorry he's gone because instinctive goal-scorers like him are very hard to come by.

Irrespective Aucks, got to say my opinion of him has been dented somewhat.
I am not too sure if it's a parting shot, or simply a ill thought comment (that can be so readily misinterpreted).
Maybe as I say our 'handling' of him on Sat may shed some light on if there is some bad blood lingering there.

Re: legends (a term I personally hate being bandied around too readily) But,
Give me a season watching David Speedie lead our line, over 3 years of 'watching' JR.
I seriously have been bored with it (the only thing I can honestly recall is his goals). Whereas with DS you enjoyed watching his endeavours from first whistle to last.
This exemplified by the phenomenal reception he got on his later return to Ewood with Leicester I think it was. Almost as good as Tugs farewell one. And dare I say it at least as good as Shearers (belated one )

This thread makes me think of Roswell in New Mexico.

My black sense of humour rather likes this one - PL making no bones about JR "wanting out"in previous transfer windows.

Guess PL wanted the money to start re-building pronto.......this hard-boiled Scottish attitude(shades of SAF at Man.Utd?) and his honesty in interviews suggests the Gary Bowyer "holiday-camp mentality"if it really existed is now well and truly buried.
Good! Shouldnt be a problem for lads with limited ability that put a full shift in aka Chris Taylor,Hope Akpan etc but those that appear to go missing in matches aka Corey Evans,Danny Guthrie could be a bit worried.

I wonder if that was the case
this season was always going to be a struggle but provided we stay up the summer will be a busy one
I think when Lambert was given the job it would of been made very clear you have 2 seasons to get us promoted
he will be finding out very quickly who those players are that can help achieve it.

Saxo - lets just put a few things into context. As I do own you remember.
A few seasons back, after a decent Leicester Side beat us at home early on in the season and Jamie Vardy scored the winner. You announced on here (like your announcing this absolute **** about Rhodes and presenting it as fact) that vardy was a joke as he came from non league. And non league players dont ever go onto do anything. Like I told you back then, you talk garbage. And I dont mind coming across arogant to put you in your place yet again. You where spectacularly wrong about Vardy. Like your spectacularly wrong about Rhodes. As you are about most things in football.

Rhodes scored some great goals, and was a great goal scorer. He never sulked, just got on with it. Ok at times his body language (after PL came in) said he wasnt too happy. Thats because he was not being used correctly. Is he the first person to be a bit pissed off at work because his boss is pretty clueless?
All in all his record at R

Not only did JR score all those goals in a very poor side, and make us a profit to live to fight another day - he did something else very few strikers do - he virtually never got injured,so no he didnt put himself about, but was always available for selection in order to score the goals. His off the field behaviour is exemplary, never causing the manager any problems. No player has scored as many goals over the past 4 seasons in any of the top 4 Divisions in English football. His record is unequalled.

So whichever players are to blame for us not getting promotion in the last 3 seasons they dont include Jordan Rhodes.
