    Transfer News-None

The other weekend I was on praise and grumble and stated how Wigan had got a possible bargain by making there offer for Coco so late that it left Crewe little time to find a replacement, the co presenter insisted that Crewe like many other clubs would be scouting all the time for a replacement and one would be found . He also mentioned that we had signed the lad from Southampton but I had to point out it was on a one month youth loan. I stated that I felt no money would be spent on a permanent replacement and this has proved to be correct. I struggle to see a loan player coming in during the loan period because if you have a player you want and the position we are in you strike while the iron is hot and get them signed up . I feel we will leave it to the last moment to see what is left at the bottom of the barrel and then make a poor signing that will not stop us dropping into Div 2. What do you guys out there think.

It is not a difficult prediction that we wouldn't spend the money we received for Colclough and certainly not quickly. We are a selling club, not a buying club. They moved quickly to sign the lad from Southampton on an initial 1 month loan deal. I believe there were several other clubs wanting to take him but he and the parent club wanted him to come here. One can only assume it is because they want him to continue his football education.
