    Charlie mulgrew

We have been heavily linked with the Celtic utility man
if we can get him on loan it's another player with not only experience at this level but somebody who will be hungry to earn a contract due to his Celtic one expiring in the summer.
I don't mind the look of this deal could be a interesting one.

Yes,I think Paul Lambert is trying to ensure we have the oldest team in the division......talk about short-termism!

An absolute no for me,when all these oldsters injuries start piling up,I reckon he has a major selection problem.

Not a criticism I could lay at Gary Bowyers door, but this "I value experience"rubbish could come back to haunt PL.

Refusal to put any youngsters even on the bench doesnt augur well........

Gary bowyer ran our first team as a development squad, bringing on players only then to sell them.

What good is that? Maybe Crewe alexendra should take him on as their boss.

I usually agree with you fully Bob but if you look at our first team it looks quite balanced of fairly young and experienced
gk Steele still only mid 20s
    rb marshall/Henley early 20s
    Cb Hanley/Duffy early 20s
    Cb ward/kilgalon experience
lb spurr mid to late 20s
    Lm conway/Taylor experience
    cm evans/lenihan early 20s
    cm Guthrie/akpan/gomez experience
    rm bennett/Marshall mid 20s
    fw watt early 20s
Fw Graham experience Jackson and Brown late 20s
So looking at the above it is a healthy balance of peak age and experience
I would love some more youth blooded but primary objective is surviving and the above balance is our best shot at achieving that objective.

    Bob.
You where the most vocal about Graham.
Now hes in the team we now look alot better. More cohesive.
I was wonderinmg your thoughts on this?
And the recent (noticeable) change in formation aswell? Do you agree its down to taking Conway out of the side and also the reliance on Rhodes is no longer relevant, meaning we look a much better unit. We now have the makings of a team.

Most who have watched us of late will say (including the manager) that our best players of late have been Jackson, and Graham. Much derided by you? Now youve seen them play, what are your thoughts?

and age or not, do you agree Gomez is far better than anything we had already and was absolutely crucial in an upturn in form?
    your thoughts?

havent Rovers ALWAYS been a selling club? Apart from 92/93 and 94/95 when we had the more money than anyone even ManUnited to spend on players. All aimed at winning one title, not 2, 3 4 etc. It was a dream. One title, then thats it.
Duff - came through our own academy - sold for Millions. huge profit, and that was at a time we still had good money and where a decent prem side.
    Dunn, excatly the same.
    Given - same

this is nothing new at all? not really sure the point here tbh.
Apart from about 3 clubs world wide, arent most clubs the exact same?

Champs, I know you've been through a difficult time and I'm not the best at dealing with people who've been through such things. My way is to carry on as normal with you and continue our argumentative dialogues, same as ever.

I mean no disrespect, I hope you understand that.

Now we can carry on laying in to each other as usual
