There is just NO accounting for losing 3 key players before a game. It would have been hard enough full strength. Let's just hope those players aren't out for long and Lambert is just prioritising more winnable games I.e. Tuesday v Fulham.

Maybe not, BUT, the substitutions were baffling and made us worse.
More important games coming up Dan, Lumpert will want his best players fit for those.. I thought you may have beaten Hull as we scraped a win.. Did you go on today Dan ? If so a match report from a none blue tinted specticled Rovers fan would be great ..
Saxo - I agree with your first two sentences. Just bad luck. However, I hope you're wrong that Lambert is "prioritising more winnable games"! This league doesn't work like that. MKD winning at Derby? Fulham beating QPR comfortably, away?Originally Posted by jordan12rhodes
To be honest, what concerns me the most is that we usually look far less likely to score under Lambert than we did under Bowyer. We have scored three goals in our last nine league-games. (And, now, even the comparative defensive record is worse!)
Right, Aucks.
Fact is,no team in our division has scored fewer goals than Rovers at home this season. So we have just sold our only source of goals. Where does PL expect the goals to come from?
Anyone who went would have seen 5 Lambert signings who are probably weaker than the players they have replaced(Gomes excepted). PL sounded worried in his brutally honest after-match assessment. We need to tie Marshall down to a long contract, pronto -the only Premier League quality player weve got left(incidentally another good GB signing).
Sam Alllardyces signings were often bizarre at Rovers,so lets hope Lambert has got Sams power of motivation!!
The best part of the day was hearing of Burnley missing a penalty in a 0-0 with Reading, partly due to gamesmanship by one of their players.![]()

I think there most likely would have been a gameplan against hull and that went out the window with the injuries. Just terrible luck. Concerningly it is just the type of bad luck that happens to relegation haunted sides.
That is true, unfortunately. (I don't want to point out your former belief that "there is no such thing as luck"!)Originally Posted by jordan12rhodes
No manager can do anything about the the "luck"-factor, though.
I don't necessarily buy into the "must-win" game argument - at least not till the final game of the season that counts - but a loss to Fulham would do yet more damage to the team's confidence.
For the first time - like Robin - I am seriously worried about the prospect of relegation. People keep talking about the manager's long-term plan, but I'm sure that didn't include having to climb out of Division One!
